Top Agricultural Products Exported from India

India's agricultural products are in high demand around the world, more so than any other product our country ships. But even though the COVID-19 Pandemic started in 2020, India's farm exports grew by 20% in 2021 and 2022, adding up to $50.21 billion.

The country doesn't rely on its agro-exports industry alone. Several groups, such as the Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), and commodity boards such as the Rubber Board, Spicer Board, and Coffee Board, work to promote the export of agricultural products.

The UAE, Vietnam, the US, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Bangladesh, and many more are some of the top countries that buy goods from India. Now is a great time for exporters to buy agricultural goods that can be sent abroad without any problems.

There are a lot of agro-products makers in India that are in high demand around the world. A wide range of goods, such as cereal, fruits, freeze-dried mushroom, and vegetables, fall into this group. In the first half of the fiscal year 2022, India's main farming exports were basmati and non-basmati rice, as well as spices.

Non basmati Rice
There are more than 1000 different kinds of rice in the world. India makes a lot of those! On the second list of the most exported farm goods in 2022 was Non-Basmati rice, which is any type of rice other than Basmati. In 2021-22, India sent out 456.5 billion Indian rupees worth of non-Basmati rice.

Sugar
India has sent out 291% more sugar than it brought in in 2013–14. In the fiscal year 2022, the country that bought the most sugar from other countries was Indonesia. Bangladesh, Sudan, and the UAE came in next. The sugar mills market liquidity has grown by Rs 33,000 crore just this year. India has shipped over 10 million tonnes of sugar, which is why it is one of the most important agricultural goods. In 2021-22, sugar exports worth 343.48 billion Indian rupees took place. This is one of India's most well-known farming goods that it sends abroad.

Basmati
Different kinds of rice are very popular around the world, but Indian rice is especially popular. About two-thirds of the Basmati rice that India grows is sent all over the world. Indian rice exports brought in 264.15 billion rupees during the financial year 2022.

Castor Oil
Our country makes a lot of castor oil, which is why it's one of the most important farming goods that India exports.
Castor oil worth 87.54 billion Indian rupees was sent abroad in the fiscal year 2021-22.

Processed goods
These are things that have been processed, like ice cream, dried soups, sauces, masalas, powders, soft drink mixes, mineral water, and more. Different produced goods worth 86.8 billion Indian rupees were sent out of India in 2021-22. Indian IQF herbs also have huge demand in the international market.

Cereals
Our country grows the most grain of any country in the world. This is one of the most famous agricultural goods that India exports: cereal. There is a huge demand for cereal around the world. Cereals like Paddy, Sorghum, Millet, Barley, and others fall into this group. With Indian grains, a total of 343.48 billion Indian rupees were sent abroad in 2021-22.

Vegetables and Fruits
Fresh fruits brought in a total of 65.61 billion Indian Rupees and 59.8 billion Indian Rupees in 2021- 22. Indian farmers are known for exporting fruits like bananas, pomegranates, grapes, mangoes, watermelons, muskmelons, guavas, and custard apples.

Apart from fresh products, frozen vegetables in India also have a huge appeal in foreign markets.

Besides these items, India also exports some other farming goods that are very valuable and in high demand around the world. A lot of agricultural, sweet, and packaged foods are in high demand in Africa and the Gulf countries.
